DESCRIPTION:The Department of SEA studies (IOA) in cooperation with The Bo
nn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies (BCDSS) invites you to a doub
le screening exploring the human\, ecological\, and political costs of lar
ge-scale development across Indonesia. From geothermal energy initiatives
in Flores island to massive rainforest clearance for industrial mega-proje
cts in southern Papua\, these documentaries critically examine how interna
tional finance and national strategic agendas often collide with local liv
elihoods. By centering the voices and resistance of affected Indigenous an
d rural communities\, the films challenge prevailing narratives of "sustai
nability" and "green transition\," shedding light on modern structures of
 extraction\, dependency\, and ongoing colonial dynamics.\n\nHot Stuff / Ba
