A two-day training on the following topics:
· Definition of different forms of discrimination and its mechanisms; focus on racism.
· Intersectionality, empowerment and reflection of privilege.
· Transferring theoretical content into practical work and further development of the BCDSS Antidiscrimination polices and procedures.

Eden Abrehet & Shavu Nsenga

About the Trainers

EDEN ABREHET
Eden Abrehet (she/her) is a cultural and political scientist as well as a psychological and qualified anti-discrimination counselor. In addition to her work as a counselor, including the assignment as an anti-racism counselor at the University of Bonn, she has been active for several years as a trainer and adviser for individuals, couples and groups. Her approach results from a combination of her personal intersections and numerous training and work experience in the field. Her goal is to initiate organic processes that will change perspectives and give room for self reflection. 


SHAVU NSENGA
Shavu Nsenga (she/her) is a social scientist as well as a trained conflict mediator and has been a trainer on racism and postcolonial power structures for over 8 years - mainly with NGOs in the developmental and international context. She brings professional experience from project work in the field of antidiscrimination, empowerment projects, and migrant and diasporic organizations. Shavu is an activist and musician and creatively and artistically expresses intersectional realities of life. Her main focus is facilitating and holding spaces for reflection and change.
