Monitoring and Evaluating © BCDSS

The BCDSS conducts its own internal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Audit to evaluate the current state of DEI within the Cluster. This audit not only highlights our unique DEI challenges and strengths but also serves as the foundation for our DEI strategies, guiding the development of targeted goals and structures.

To ensure continuous progress, BCDSS utilizes a range of assessment tools within its ongoing DEI Monitoring & Evaluation systems. These tools gather and analyze both qualitative and quantitative data year-round, providing valuable insights that shape our DEI-related policies and decision-making:

  • BCDSS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Survey: Conducted biannually, this anonymous online survey collects both quantitative and qualitative data on attitudes and awareness towards DEI at the Cluster, feedback on DEI policies, procedures, and services, and gives BCDSS members an opportunity to share their DEI-related needs.
  • Internal focus group discussions: Engaging different interest groups within the Cluster to identify diverse perspectives and DEI needs.
  • Feedback questionnaires: Collected from DEI workshops and events to gather participants’ insights and suggestions.
  • Anonymous feedback: Individual complaints and suggestions submitted via ‘Complaints Boxes’ or directly to the Antidiscrimination team, Equal Opportunity Representative, or DEI Coordinator.
  • Biannual BCDSS DEI Report: Compiled by the DEI Coordinator and shared with BCDSS members, this report analyzes collected data, summarizes progress towards DEI goals, evaluates trainings and activities, and tracks overall awareness and service utilization by members.
