Congratulations to Prof. Dr. Martin Schermaier on being elected Dean of Faculty of Law and Economics. As a Principal Investigator at the BCDSS, his project explores the ideological basis on which modern forms of SADs can be justified. This basis is related to the "free will" concept and thus, with the modern criterion of "agency." Beyond that, it investigates the specific legal implementations of these concepts and, by doing so, seeks to develop a theory of modern employment law, which is as yet still (Rückert 2013) missing.

He will take up his post as dean on October 1, 2026.
