The BCDSS Reader is a collection of key texts on of Strong Asymmetrical Dependency. Intended as an orientation and educational resource, it brings together texts from a variety of sources published as part of the BCDSS series and beyond. Updated later editions will contain further texts.
The texts are sorted according to three main categories: (1) General Approaches to Strong Asymmetrical Dependencies, (2) Slaveries and Similar Dependencies, and (3) Research Lenses (corresponding to our five Research Areas). Together, they showcase the large scope of research carried out at the cluster; from manumitted slaves in Early Modern Istanbul to the present-day experiences of Caribbean Hindu women.
The reader is available in digital format (PDF) only.
