The Block Seminar was organized by Prof. Dr. Matthias Ehmann (Professor for Mission Research and Intercultural Theology, Theologische Hoschule Ewersbach), Rev. Dr. Matthew R. Robinson (Director of the Department of Intercultural Theology, Faculty of Protestant Theology, University of Bonn), and Rev. David Brandon Smith (PhD Researcher in Church History, BCDSS). Participants explored the intersections of global religious freedom discourse and enduring asymmetrical dependencies from the perspectives of ecumenism, world Christianity studies, and inter-religious engagement. Five students from the BCDSS MA Programs in Slavery and Dependency Studies joined five students from the Master of Arts in Ecumenical Studies at Bonn's Faculty of Protestant Theology and five students from the Theologische Hochschule Ewersbach.
