Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and conduct a research project in the field of Historically Informed Dependency Studies,
- Publish your research results,
- Actively take part in the BCDSS’s collaborative inter- and transdisciplinary research,
- Participation in the BCDSS’s Doctoral Program.

Your Qualifications:
- A completed university degree (Master, Magister, Staatsexamen or equivalent), obtained max. three years ago.
- We welcome applications from all over the world. English is the working language within the BCDSS. Proficiency in English can be verified by one of the following:

- ETS TOEFL certificate (minimum score of 600 for the paper-based test, 250 for the computer-based test, and 100 for the internet-based test),
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English, CPE (any grade),
- Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English, CAE (grade A or B),
- IELTS test (level 7.0),
- C1 level according to CEFR,
- Native speakers or graduates from an English-speaking university are exempt from this verification.
Your Application Needs to Include:
- Cover letter stating your motivation to work at the BCDSS (max. 1500 characters including spaces),
- Curriculum Vitae,
- A copy of your Bachelor’s and Master’s certificates,
- An outline of the proposed research project (max. 6000 characters including spaces, including footnotes, excluding bibliography). Please include information on: Key research questions and hypotheses; sources and methodology; originality of the proposed project vis-à-vis existing scholarship and key publications in the field; alignment of the project with one or more of the research areas mentioned above; relevance of the project to the chosen Research Area; name of potential supervisor at the BCDSS,
- A brief timeline of the project for four years,
- The name and contact of two referees (position, professional address, and e-mail).
