Information on the boards and committees of the cluster, their members and their decision-making powers
Structure
The main objective of the International Advisory Board is to regularly monitor the standard in comparison to other international research centers and to explore possible pathways for sustaining and further improving the performance and productivity of the cluster.
The evaluation will assess whether
- the mandate and objectives of the cluster remain relevant;
- the general strategy pursued and the priorities are useful;
- the cluster is managed efficiently and effectively.

The Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies is managed by its Steering Committee which is made up of:
- the Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies Spokesperson;
- the two Deputy Spokespersons;
- the Managing Director;
- the Equal Opportunity Representative(s);
- one Representative of each Research Area;
- one Cluster Professor;
- one Postdoctoral and Research Group Leader Representative;
- one PhD student Representative;
- and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator (in an advisory capacity).
The steering committee manages the affairs of the Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies and is responsible for the design and implementation of the research program as well as the budgetary and personnel decisions made by the Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies.

The Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies Board is made up of:

The Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies Board prepares the meetings of the Steering Committee, and pursues the implementation of decisions taken by the Steering Committee. The Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies' everyday and operational business is managed by the Board.
The Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies Board meets at least once a month.

The General Assembly of the Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies is made up of all employees of the Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies, as well as all of its Principal Investigators.
The General Assembly is responsible for electing the Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies' decision making bodies (Board and Steering Committee), the election of an Equal Opportunity Representative, and the election of an Ombuds person.
The General Assembly also decides about the admission of new members, as well as about the exclusion of members.
The General Assembly meets at least once a year.
